Jan De Laet holds a Master’s degree in Applied Physics (Electrical and Mechanical Engineering).
He completed his PhD in the domain of Surface Engineering and Surface Characterization followed by a post-doctoral research associate appointment at the Institute for Science & Technology of the Manchester University.
He joined Philips in 1999 as technology owner for the processes, materials, diagnostics and reliability of Ultra High Pressure discharge lamps (UHP) in Turnhout, Belgium.
As a senior project manager of Philips Innovation Services, he contributed to the development and installation of the OLED manufacturing line in Aachen. In 2013 he took the position of senior Quality and Reliability Engineer at PInS Eindhoven, where he participated in several projects for ASML and Philips Healthcare.
After an assignment to drive the I2M Excellence capability program on Requirements Engineering, he became a business process expert for application and development engineering roles
He is currently group leader of the Product Quality and Reliability group within Philips Innovation Services
